About ITF

What is the International Trombone Festival?

The International Trombone Festival is an annual, multi-day event featuring all things trombone, and trombone related. Artists, teachers, students, professionals, industry leaders, and hobbyists gather annually to celebrate and explore the many facets and styles of trombone playing, teaching, and making.

International Trombone Festival

The location of the ITF moves around the world on an annual basis, with Festivals in the US, and beyond. For updates on current and future Fesitval locations, be sure to follow us on social media!

Annual ITF programs include invited guest performers and pedagogues (Arists), lecturers and performers from around the world (Presenters), selected through a competitive application process, ITA competition finalists, top student ensembles, and a diverse array of exhibitors, representing the cutting edge of trombone repretoire, recordings, instrument technology, and accessories.

During US Festivals, the ITF is also home to the Youth Workshop, a special program for developing trombonists, ages 12-17, and the Composers Workshop, which supports new music for the trombone.
