Richard Edwards Memorial Concert at The Guards’ Chapel
February 26 @ 7:30 pm – 9:00 pm
Join the trombones of the Household Division alongside London Brass and the Royal College of Music for an evening of music and stories as they pay tribute to former Irish Guards musician, and world renowned trombone player Richard Edwards.
From his beginnings at the Royal Military School of Music, Kneller Hall, and winning all available trophies at the time, Richard went on to have an incredible versatile career.
Whether it was the house band “upstairs” at Ronnie Scott’s, touring the world with funk fusion group Working Week or Carla Bley, sat on stage with the London Symphony Orchestra, or in the recording studio for hundreds of soundtracks not limited to the likes of Harry Potter, Lord of the Rings, James Bond, or maybe you’ll have heard him on albums for Sting, Amy Winehouse and Joni Mitchell, Richard’s musicianship, skill and versatility on the trombone was second to none.
The concert is FREE to attend with a retiring collection at the end.
