DESCRIPTION:The Tokyo University of Science Orchestra is an ensemble of trombone and tuba players gathered mainly by alumni and former members of the Tokyo University of Science Orchestra. Under the guidance of Mr. Yuji Yamada\, we will hold our 22nd concert.  \n\n\n\n\n			\n				\n			\n		\n\n\n\nThis time\, as the second project of Brahms Symphony No. 2\, we will challenge the second movement with only trombone and tuba. The main program will be an arrangement of Piazzolla’s “Maria of Buenos Aires” by Steven Verhelst.  \n\n\n\nAdmission is free and all seats are unreserved. \n\n\n\nTokyo\, Japan

Attendees will participate in masterclasses and rehearsals refining their skills and gaining valuable insights from professionals. The event will include recitals of chamber music\, our guest artist\, Jennifer Wharton’s recital\, and culminates in a final concert\, showcasing trombone ensembles\, including the Mass Trombone Ensemble\, where all participants will perform together under the direction of Dr. Bill Mann and Gil Estes. \n\n\n\nAtlanta Trombone Day offers a unique opportunity to connect with fellow trombonists\, develop new skills\, and share your passion for trombone. Our guest artist for the event is Joseph L. Jefferson\, Associate Professor of Jazz/Commercial Trombone and Director of Jazz Ensembles at St. Olaf College. \n\n\n\nThe first 50 participants to register for the event will be entered into a raffle to win a free Sshhmute practice mute. \n\n\n\nPlayground Music will also be on-site with trombones available for demonstration and products available for purchase.

DESCRIPTION:Now in its eleventh year under the direction of Dr. Matthew Russo\, the UCONN TROMBONE CHOIR is composed of students from many different majors at UConn.  \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nThe UConn Trombone Choir commits itself to developing the repertoire for trombone ensemble. In 2022 it premiered Matthew Kennedy’s Bounce for trombone sextet. It premiered UConn Trombone Choir alumna Silvia Gopalakrishnan’s Highlands and Maria in 2024. The choir performs original music for trombone ensembles dating back to the sixteenth century and selections from pop\, jazz\, film\, show tunes\, television\, and video games.
