Ball State University School of Music invites applications for a full-time, tenure-track appointment beginning August 2017. Responsibilities include teaching applied lessons to undergraduate and graduate students, performing with the faculty brass quintet, leading weekly studio class, directing/conducting trombone ensemble, coaching student chamber groups, and additional duties as assigned by the director. Additional performance opportunities may be available locally and regionally. A successful candidate will be expected recruit and maintain a strong studio, maintain a national/international level of performance/scholarship, and participate in service.
Rank: Assistant/Associate Professor of Music
Salary: Commensurate with experience and education
Minimum Qualifications: Completed master’s degree in music, a strong performance history, and a record of successful teaching.
Preferred Qualifications: Demonstrated ability to recruit and retain quality students, exceptional performance and/or scholarly background, completed doctorate, coaching chamber music, teaching trombone repertoire/pedagogy, conducting experience, and/or experience/background of entrepreneurship in music.
