The CCM Trombone Studio seeks a highly qualified DMA applicant to assume the responsibilities of Trombone Graduate Assistant for Fall 2020.

Primary responsibilities of the Trombone Graduate Assistant include instructing all graduate and undergraduate students in weekly half-hour applied lessons and directing the CCM Trombone Choir in weekly rehearsals. This entails 150 hours/semester of instruction time.

The successful applicant will demonstrate excellence in both applied and ensemble instruction. Documented history of private teaching and ensemble directing preferred with application.

The successful applicant will receive a tuition waiver during his/her appointment in addition to a bi-weekly stipend ($4,479/academic year).

This position will be appointed to a candidate who displays a strong sense of professionalism and artistic entrepreneurship. The position is designed as a ‘pre-faculty’ appointment to allow the applicant to grow as an artistic leader before entering a career in academia.

In order to maintain this award, the applicant must achieve a satisfactory level of academic performance (3.0 GPA or better), and must register for a minimum of 12 graduate credit hours per semester.
