The Indiana University of Pennsylvania Trombone Ensemble, under the direction of Christian Dickinson, performed for Trombone Day at Johnstobaugh’s Music Center in suburban Pittsburgh on October 12, 2019. The ensemble was joined by several alumni from as far back as 1975 and featured music written or arranged by IUP alums. Special guest soloist, James Nova of the Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra performed his arrangement of JS Bach’s Arioso with the group and presented a workshop on making practicing more interesting. Several manufacturer representatives were there as well showcasing their instruments.
