Piano score and solo part

Primary Genre: Elementary Material - solo

Handel's 1743 oratorio, Samson, may be best known for its popular aria, "Let the bright Seraphim." In this arrangement, Kevin Kaisershot has taken another of Handel's wonderful arias and capably set it for the younger trombonist. The range of B-flat to e-flat1, keys of B-flat major/G minor and common time meter, should all be well within the grasp of students in their second or third year of study. The piece's D.S. al fine instructions add roughly two minutes of repeated music, which may become tiresome the second time around. The piano part is quite straightforward, including basic octave passages and manageable block chords. The edition is quite readable. This is a good "go to" piece when solo and ensemble festival rolls around.
