Score and parts

Primary Genre: Brass Ensemble - 4 brass

This quartet is scored for two trumpets, horn, and trombone. Movement I is in slow, triple meter and presents no technical problems for grade 4 players. Dynamic changes from section to section provide variety in the movement. Movement II is more difficult. It is faster and precision among the parts is a challenge. The first trumpet carries the load and has by far the most difficult part with measure after measure of sixteenth note patterns. Movement III is in 12/8 meter, eighth note = 108. The players move together through most of the movement. Movement IV is also in 12/8 meter but dotted quarter = 132. Second trumpet and horn play the melodic material while first trumpet and trombone embellish that material. This is fine music and should sound quite good in concert. Presentation is excellent.
