Score and parts.

Primary Genre: Brass Ensemble - 5 brass
Secondary Genre: Solo Tenor Trombone - with brass

Bob Burnham has created an effective arrangement of this “warhorse” of our repertoire. His approach works well for the quartet that accompanies the trombone as soloist. About half of the solo part is written in tenor clef. A competent quartet is needed, equaling the skills of the soloist. The opening key center of E-flat minor presents challenges as well as the pianistic lines throughout all parts. Endurance will also be an issue. Fans of this great composition will be eager to deal with the challenges. This arrangement should open up more opportunities to perform this mainstay of our repertoire.
