Score and parts

Primary Genre: Trombone Ensembles - 4 trombones

Originally scored in G, this version has been lowered to B-flat. Accordingly, the trombone 1 part is in tenor clef and ascends to b-flat1; the bass trombone part descends to FF. The remaining parts have reasonable ranges. Because of the lower tessitura, some voice crossing occurs and harmonies will be denser than the original string quartet version; some rhythmic accompaniment has been simplified to address this. Some ornaments are written out, some are simplified, and some are omitted. Pacing is good with adequate periods of rest and the melody is shared. An obvious audience pleaser, ensuring a lighter style, especially with multiple tonguing, will be the biggest challenge.
