This well known work from the Nutcracker Suite should be of interest to brass quintets who concertize on occasion with a highly competent organist. All brass parts are in modest ranges; the only exception being a brief horn passage that goes twice to a-flat3. The arranger asks both trumpet players to double on flugelhorn for the first sixty measures of the work then switch to C trumpet. A list of instructions is provided for the organist. The brass quintet that read this work without an organist felt the need for that missing instrument!
