Score and parts

Primary Genre: Trombone Ensembles - 4 trombones

This straightforward arrangement of a familiar favorite is an excellent addition to a quartet’s folder. It is perfect lighter fare for a recital. It is also useful for weddings and other festive occasions. All four parts are challenging and have musical interest. Bass trombone sounds best on the bottom part, but it can certainly be performed on a tenor trombone (with a few minor octave changes to avoid an occasional C or BB-flat). The top part is scored for alto trombone. It tops out at f2, and its overall tessitura hovers around b1, making alto trombone desirable, if not necessary. The alto part carries most of the melodic material, so it will require a skilled player and nimble touch on the instrument. The second part requires someone who can match the sound and articulation of the alto, as the two play frequent duet passages.
