Score and parts

Primary Genre: Brass Ensemble - 3 brass

The brass trio literature needs variety and this piece, which uses trumpet and trombone cup mutes as well as muted horn throughout, can provide needed contrast to a program. However, endurance is a problem. Even though trumpet and horn ranges are moderate, there are few rests in this slow, five minute work. In addition, the trombone part features high tessitura solo material in the second half of the work. The trumpet part is given in both C and B-flat; horn is given in both F and E-flat. Proceed with caution and strong chops!
