Václav Nelhýbel
Pocono Trios:
trumpet, horn (optional second trumpet), trombone or euphonium

Publisher: Pocono Mountain Music Publishing
Date of Publication: 1995

Score and parts

Primary Genre: Brass Ensemble - 3 brass

Brass trio literature has already been blessed with Nelhybel’s Trio for Brass. If you have played brass trios, you have played that work. This set of seven short movements in a variety of key centers and rhythmic settings is another piece brass trios will want in their repertoire. It may not have the stature of the earlier work but it is certainly quality material. The music is in comfortable ranges for each instrument and is always playable and satisfying. It requires good musicians but trios as well as audiences will enjoy the experience of becoming acquainted with this fine work.
