This latest jazz composition by trombonist Ilja Reijngoud is great fun and a fine improvisation show piece for as many soloists as you have. Tempo is quarter note at 200 though the feel is in two and labeled easy medium swing. Ranges are not a problem, first trombone has a few c2s but with abundant rest in between. The solo changes are printed in part 2 only, though if you choose not to use a guitar player that part can be given to additional soloists. The head features trombones 1 and 3 in bucket mute on the first 8 bars with parts 2, 4, 5 and 6 picking it up for the second 8. Some nice bass bone solo lines are also interspersed giving all a taste of the lead. Rhythm section parts are well marked and easy to follow. Kicks are labeled well for drum set and the bass part is mostly chord symbols with clear directions given for switching between a two feel and walking style. This chart is great fun. Head and backgrounds are easy to put together and will allow your soloists to soar, an excellent, much needed addition to the repertoire.
