These songs are arranged for trombone quartet by Frank Gazda and are suitable for intermediate performers. The parts are all in bass clef and their range is not extreme, up to b-flat1. They are favorite songs celebrating Jewish Hanukkah [Chanukah] or Festival of Lights. The Dreidel Song is set in the key of B-flat and is quite straightforward. Oh Hanukkah is set in F minor and is similarly uncomplicated. One interesting feature of both songs is that the melody is passed around the quartet, allowing all players to handle it. If a performance of the Dreidel Song alone is wanted, there is a one-measure ending which can be played. If the group plays both songs, that measure is skipped, leading directly into the introduction to Oh, Hanukkah. This is a nice arrangement, not complicated and easy to put together for the season. Recommended.
