Score and parts

Primary Genre: Trombone Ensembles - 4 trombones

This is a straightforward setting of the Overture from The Nutcracker in the original key (down an octave). The arrangement is technically difficult, and the register demands limit its performance to a very select group of high-level professional players. The first trombone part is very regularly playing fast passages up to f2 and will take an outstanding performer to pull off the needed lightness and dexterity. The other parts are also technically challenging. Otherwise, it is an effective arrangement and would provide a holiday feature for professional trombone groups. There is an inspiring video recording by the arranger and the trombones of the Army Field Band available that is highly recommended. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RgxaC6zGDdg

Grade 6+.  Range D to f2.
